Learning Portfolio

A new Learning Portfolio system has been introduced for students enrolling in the 2025 academic year and beyond. It is accessible via smartphone. https://www.lp.innov.nagasaki-u.ac.jp/ldaplogin
For details, please refer to the manual (available for both PC and smartphone versions). The Learning Portfolios for students enrolled in the 2024 academic year or earlier are located on LACS (Learning Support System).
※Please access from the NU-Web System (Academic Affairs Information System).

You can regularly self-assess using the rubrics in your Learning Portfolio. The items in the self-assessment rubric are based on Nagasaki University’s Diploma Policy and serve as benchmarks for achieving Level 4 by graduation. Level 5 corresponds to the level expected of graduate students and working professionals. Review your competencies every six months and consult with your mentor and academic advisor to connect this assessment to your next learning steps.

In addition, Required Student Survey and Course Engagement Questionnaire(partial only) are automatically accumulated. You can also compare yourself with other students.
In addition, the learning outcomes you submit from LACS in class will be automatically accumulated in your Learning Portfolio. It is a good idea to upload the learning outcomes submitted by other methods to your Learning Portfolio.
By doing this, you will be able to look back on your own growth over the course of the school year. Furthermore, by properly accumulating your completed coursework, you can show it as proof should you ever become a victim of harassment, such as receiving an unjust grade.

The Learning Portfolio is equipped with a self-assessment rubric to grasp the status of competencies on your own once every six months.

In addition, the Learning Portfolio accumulates some items of the Required Student Survey and Course Engagement Questionnaire, and learning outcomes submitted in class.

What is accumulated in the learning portfolio

  • ●Multifaceted evaluation of abilities (self-assessment rubrics, Required Student Survey, Course Engagement Questionnaire)
  • ●Learning outcomes (papers, assignments, etc.) submitted in class
  • ●Courses and grade evaluation (depending on the department)
  • ●High school learning experience
  • ●Learning behavior (time for learning outside class, travel experience, qualifications and licenses, etc.)
  • ●Satisfaction (partial)
  • ●Job hunting status (Required Student Survey)

The Learning Portfolio as a record of learning while in school is also used for “comprehensive evaluation” at the time of graduation. This is specified in the Curriculum Policy of Nagasaki University.

Curriculum Policy (excerpt)
Students accumulate their learning achievements in the Learning Portfolio system at any time. Students can check their own growth trajectory by looking back on their Learning Portfolio. In addition, the Learning Portfolio will be used as a material for student guidance and advice by mentor faculty members. Furthermore, at the time of graduation, it will be used as evidence for comprehensive evaluation of academic achievement at the university.
