Implementation of Course Engagement Questionnaire for the 1st Quarter Courses (Request)

Thank you for your cooperation in managing the Course Engagement Questionnaire.

We will conduct the “Course Engagement Questionnaire” in all classes in this first quarter, so please look at the instruction below, and ask your students in person or in online classes to answer the “Course Engagement Questionnaire.”

The name of the “Class Questionnaire” has been changed to “Course Engagement Questionnaire” since the 2022 academic year. There is no change in the response period for students, but there has been a change in the timing of disclosing results to course instructors and entering comments, which will now be done twice a year, once in the first and second semesters, after grades are entered. The results will be available to the public for a period of one year from the day after the comment entry period ends.

This “Course Engagement Questionnaire” is intended to give feedback to each class as well as university education to improve faculty’s lectures and university educational management system. In addition, it helps students self-development by looking back what skill and/or ability they acquire in each class through the Portfolio system, where part of the answers of “Course Engagement Questionnaire” are accumulated.
Whenever possible, please set aside time for students during the in-person or online class to complete the survey.

Response period: Monday, May 26, 2025 – Sunday, June 22, 2025
*The response period differs from the normal period for courses whose end dates have been changed.

Requests: We will call for responses from students during the last week of class or the week before, and will try to make time to respond during class time whenever possible. Students may also respond from outside the university, such as from home, so please respond as appropriate.
How to answer: Students log in to NU-Web and answer the questionnaire from “Questionnaire > Course Engagement Questionnaire.

Students will receive an email from the Center at the beginning of the Course Engagement Questionnaire, and will also receive a reminder email 14 days before the last day to respond (Monday, June 9 for the first quarter) for students who have not yet responded. Students who have not responded as of 7 days prior to the last day to respond (Monday, June 16 for the first quarter) will receive a response request alert on LACS.
